ALOT OF PLANNING APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY BEING SUBMITTED IN SPANISH CITIES REGARDING CHANGE OF USE (eg from ground floor business premises to residential apartment). DO YOU, AS A SPANISH LAWYER HAVE DIFFICULTIES EXPRESSING YOURSELF IN THIS AREA?

  1. «The profits are in the planning» (for example you buy a ground-floor premises,   for 70,000 euros without planning permission. When you get the requisite   permissions, the value immediately goes up to 110,000 euros, for example).
  2. «Planning Application»: (you usually put in a planning application to the town     hall  in Spain).
  3. «Property developer»: (In Spanish the word is promotor, but we never use this     word in English).
  4. «Planning Department»: (this would be the person/group that you submit your   application to in the town hall).
  5. «Brownfield and greenfield sites» (it»s much easier to get the necessary permissions for brownfield rather than greenfield sites, because brownfield sites have previously been built on).
