In Spanish property law it is common to say:

He finalizado la operacion de compraventa de una parcela en Toledo.

My students will usually say: We have completed the operation (intervencion quirurgica) for the purchase of land in Toledo. THIS IS NOT CORRECT. UNLESS YOU ARE A DOCTOR.

It should be: We have completed the transaction for the purchase of land in Toledo.

Another common mistake in Spanish property law is to say: The catastral value of the apartment is 150,000 euros (for example). THIS IS NOT CORRECT.

It should be: The registered value (for Spanish tax purposes is 150,000 euros.
