1) As + noun = in the position of.

eg….As an inhabitant of Madrid I feel that it has alot of employment opportunies.

2) Like + noun = similar to

eg..Like Madrid, London has alot of employment opportunities.

3) We usually use like to compare two things: eg…The centre of London is very much

like the centre of any other mega-metropolis.

4) Like and As have the same meanings when used as conjunctions to make a comparison:

eg…Nobody understands him like I do.

Nobody understands him as I do.
