- To improve pronunciation and fluency.
- Using phonetic alphabet.
- Correction by imitation.
- Looking at business/property law videos to improve listening skills.
- Discussing UK property and business law, cases and comparing them with similar Spanish cases.
- To examine legal letter writing and foster negotiation skills.
- To look at the language of legal letter writing/emails and the formal expressions required.
- To examine the key aspects of negotiating eg…never making or accepting the first offer, being clear as to what one wants from a negotiation and never revealing one”s bottom line to the other party because it might impede future deal agreements.
- To watch videos on negotiation to deepen the student”s understanding of the subject and to improve listening skills.
- To look at various aspects of business and contract law procedure to increase vocabulary, legal english phrasal verbs and prepositions.
- To learn new vocabulary appropriate to business/contract law, which can be used in day to day legal English usage, eg…sole-trader, county court/high court, nominal share price, implied contracts, articles of association etc….
- To look at live examples of business situations, giving legal advice as appropriate, using correct legal English phrases.
- To do preposition based gap-fill exercises, in a business law context, to become more comfortable around these.
