1. a) to INCUR costs (we incurred a high level of costs by taking the case to the supreme court).

before the expiry date).

1. c) to be CONVICTED of a crime (he was convicted of fraud and sentenced to two years).

1. d) to IMPOSE a penalty on someone (a PENALTY fine of $100 was imposed on the brothers).

1. e) a MATERIAL breach (in this case there was a material breach of the agreement, because not all the money was transferred).
